I decided to respond to the site based on my feelings and thoughts to being in the Crypt itself. I imagined coming into the space as a viewer without any previous in-depth knowledge of the space. 

Crypt comes from the Greek word 'Kruptos' meaning to hide or conceal. I interpreted this hiding or concealing to reveal something and I related it to the photograph which reveals and yet conceals. With this in mind I sketched Crypt Mock 1, 2 and 3.

These initial sketches were discarded and I decided to install my family home movies recorded onto VHS tapes. They would play over and over again for the duration of the show. This repetition would cause the inevitable deterioration of the footage and eventually erase it forever. This goes back to the idea that through repetition information is communicated and simultaneously deleted.
