Personal vernacular photography is the source material for this series of works. They act as the ripple of the action, the flash but not the trigger, as the object is re-viewed a new lease of interpretation is placed upon it, changing the structure with pressure, the narrative in gesture. The image is playfully repeated in new frameworks, oscillating between digital and analogue forms of technical reproduction that leave behind a trace of their functionality. It is written over with layers of paint, drawing, etching and collage. I scratch searching for the untold stories, covering up to reveal, in the darkness I stumble forward mapping new territories of desire. In this process, new imaginary landscapes are formed, at times completely obscuring the photograph it started with.
